I've noticed that podcast hosting services have started implementing rate limiting since a few months ago. I guess as a countermeasure to bot scraping(?). BBC is indeed a particularly stringent one. I've actually got a branch with a solution to limit the amount of parallel podcasts downloads because I got hit by the same problem recently. I'll try to squeeze that one into the upcoming 26.04 release.
