Good news: Krita actually loads, eventually.

Bad news: it takes at least 27 minutes to load based on the logs.

For comparison, I deleted the database and ran Krita 5.2.9 (ac6cae8) from its
appimage. It finishes loading in 1 minute.

So it's not a problem of system resources or hardware, the 5.3.0 appimage is
taking 27 times longer to load for some reason. The same issue occurs with the
6.0 appimage, by the way.
