--- Comment #2 from [email protected] --- (In reply to Kåre Särs from comment #1) > If you for some reason do not want the search as you type in the current > file, you can disable it by un-checking the "Search As You Type" checkbox in > the context-menu of the search-box. The ctrl-shift-F will then only open the > search tool-view with the selected word in the search-box. Aside from the fact that the "Search As You Type" option is incredibly non-discoverable, what you're saying is that it's intentional that you need to press a tri-chord keyboard shortcut followed by enter for contextual project search with a highlighted word? That is incredibly clunky if you're mousing around: If the user inputs the shortcut with their left hand with their right on the mouse, they have to then move one of their hands a long way to press enter. If you're the kind of person that does lots of searching (not necessarily for symbols, which could/would be covered by LSP) then that is a lot of extra keystrokes. I can't think of any other editor that works this particular way. > When you type something in the search box, it will search as you type in the > current file. Then when you press enter, or the search button, it will > search in the selected project/folder/... That's not very intuitive, and looks and smells like a bug since it does not respect your chosen search mode. The current functionality doesn't make sense to me. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
