choice to add a graphical component existing inside Plasma 5
DESCRIPTION
Previously inside plasma 5 when you dragged a menu item to the desktop you add
the choice to add a widget for this item (see attachment)
this created two things ... as example :
- inside /home/username/.local/share/plasma_icons/ it added
org.kde.digikam (2).desktop
- inside /home/username/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc it
created these 7 lines :
[Containments][1][Applets][135]
immutability=1
plugin=org.kde.plasma.icon
[Containments][1][Applets][135][Configuration]
localPath=/home/username/.local/share/plasma_icons/org.kde.digikam (2).desktop
url=file:///usr/share/applications/org.kde.digikam.desktop
Now this choice is not proposed anymore : you can only add a copy or a link on
the desktop
Nevertheless if I import what had been created inside Plasma 5 into the same
places of Plasma 6,
(.desktop file added inside /home/username/.local/share/plasma_icons/
and lines added inside
/home/username/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc)
the widget appears on the desktop
So Plasma 6 can use what Plasma 5 had created but can't create this anymore
To conclude :
there is a lost feature
A lost choice for user to create a widget for a menu item when Plasma can still
use this previously created widget
