A screenshot of the time wheel in question, with a red annotation hinting what
sort of keyboard focus and input cursor might be expected by the average user
DESCRIPTION
The time wheel widget in Itinerary 26.04.1 feels sluggish in weird due to how
it reacts to the user with how long it keeps moving sometimes:
The main problem for this seems to be that the simulated velocity continues
going for way too long at lower speeds, meaning if I drag and let go at almost
stopped speed, it will still continue for ages before I can finally see where
it ends up stopping and it feels like it's constantly creeping in a
frustratingly slow manner when I intended it to stop. This makes it rather
frustrating to hit a specific number. Either it should continue creeping fast
if I let go at a fast speed, or it should almost instantly stop to not feel
sluggish and weird.
The other problem is that the mouse wheel does nothing. It should also scroll
when the mouse cursor is over one of the columns, and it should scroll the
respective hovered column.
A third problem seems to be that there is no clear input focus on any of the
three digits shown and no input cursor, so that I can't just e.g. press tab to
get to the right wheel and press backspace to delete one of the numbers to edit
one with the keyboard. This feels both kind of inconsistent and seems like it
would be an accessibility problem.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to use the time wheel to input a time. It's more annoying especially
with a mouse.
OBSERVED RESULT
The above shortcomings make it rather annoying to deal with.
EXPECTED RESULT
It would be nice if it felt less sluggish, responded to the mouse wheel, and
had a clear visual keyboard focus with an input cursor so it is obvious how to
input numbers using the keyboard.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window):
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.25.0
Qt Version: 6.11.0
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I set the version to unspecified since 26.04.1 isn't listed as a possible
choice.
