            Bug ID: 520209
Summary: Gwenview's Browse mode has image thumbnails that are
aliased and jaggy, especially for line art/technical
                    images
    Classification: Applications
           Product: gwenview
      Version First 26.04.1
       Reported In:
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

The image thumbnails in "Browse" mode have unhelpful aliasing visual effects
and subjectively look "gritty" and unappealing, especially for images that have
small text or line art.

By contrast, Dolphin now has all of its image thumbnails anti-aliased. Plasma
desktop image thumbnails are anti-aliased. Windows, MacOS all have anti-aliased
image thumbnails.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Open up Gwenview.
2. Press Esc to go into Browse mode or click the Browse icon; a grid of
thumbnail icons of the current directory's files are visible.
3. Scroll to find images that have fine text or line art. Photos will not
reveal the issue too readily.

OBSERVED RESULT

Thumbnails in Browse mode are aliased in their nearest-neighbor resized state.

EXPECTED RESULT

Thumbnails in Browse mode should be more "clean", rendered with something like
bi-linear filtering.
