Bug ID: 520961
Summary: Icons-and-text task manager doesn't show open windows
after switching to external monitors
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First master
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager widgets
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
When I plug my laptop into my dual external monitors and close the lid, the
"icons and text task manager" on my primary desktop acts like no windows are
open. If I open a new window, the program opens, but the icon on the taskbar
doesn't highlight and show the open window. The secondary desktop works fine.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start with the laptop open
2. Plug in the dock (laptop + 2 external monitors are now active)
3. Close the lid (now only the 2 external monitors are active, and the primary
monitor changes to one of the external ones)
OBSERVED RESULT
The Icons-and-Text Task Manager isn't aware of which windows are open on the
current screen.
If I uncheck "Show only tasks > From the current screen", it shows all open
windows, but if I check it again and apply again, it goes back to the broken
state. It feels like it's stuck looking for the wrong screen ID or something. I
can fix it by restarting Plasma shell.
EXPECTED RESULT
The Icons-and-Text Task Manager shows the windows that are open on the current
screen.
