System Info:
- OS: Fedora KDE (Plasma 6)
- Display Server: Affects both X11 and Wayland sessions
- Scale Factor: 125% fractional scaling (Affects 100% scaling as well)
Observed Behavior:
certain applications experience rapid, flashing black/grey micro-pixel
artifacts during rendering. This is highly aggressive in Steins;Gate (running
via Bottles/DXVK) and subtly visible in native Linux players like mpv.
Diagnostic Isolation Performed:
1. Screen Recording Test: The artifacts ARE captured inside a software screen
recording (see attached file). This confirms it is a software rendering/logical
coordinate bug, not a hardware monitor or cable failure.
2. Compositor Isolation Test: On an X11 session, completely disabling the KWin
compositor via Alt+Shift+F12 causes the glitch to become almost completely
unnoticeable. Re-enabling the KWin compositor immediately causes the artifacts
to become highly aggressive and visually obvious again.
