--- Comment #2 from apatheticsenshi <[email protected]> --- SUMMARY Small, square patches of pixels aggressively flash black in random places across the application window when running the Steins;Gate visual novel in Bottles. These tiny block artifacts constantly pop up, disappear, and reappear in different spots as the frame updates. The issue occurs at 100% native scale. Interestingly, completely disabling KWin compositor (via Alt+Shift+F12) compositing stops the flickering entirely, but re-enabling KWin causes the black block artifacts to return immediately. Attached is a video showing exactly how these pixel dropouts behave. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1 Launch the game with KWin compositing active. 2 Observe the random, sudden appearance of small black pixel blocks blinking across different parts of the window. 3 Disable KWin compositing (e.g., via Alt+Shift+F12 on X11) the flickering becomes unnoticeable. OBSERVED RESULT Tiny square blocks of pixels flash black in erratic positions across the window while KWin is compositing. EXPECTED RESULT The window should render its graphics smoothly without any sporadic black block artifacts, regardless of compositor state. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 44 (KDE Plasma Desktop Edition) x86_64 KDE Plasma Version: KDE Plasma 6.6.5 Qt 6 Version: 6.11 Qt 5 Version: 5.15.18 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Hardware: Laptop with IntelĀ® UHD Graphics 620 Log Context: The runtime initialization log outputs err:xrandr:xrandr14_get_adapters Failed to get adapters at launch. Capture Note: The flickering blocks are visible in software desktop screen recordings, confirming this is a software rendering/buffer issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
