I don't know the code well enough, but I'm not surprised that it might have a single threaded part within either the ofx import or the transaction import. (I'll the KMM importers have a first part, specific to the file type being imported, but all produce a kmm import file which is then actually imported to your data by a single process. Mainly out of curiosity, is the behavior any different importing into an empty ledger? I wonder if the delay is related to transaction matching.
