Rodrigo <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #1 from Rodrigo <[email protected]> --- I can confirm this bug is causing a major user-facing issue in Fedora 44 / Plasma 6.7 (Wayland). Because KWin fails to update the XKB group ID/modifiers correctly via the Wayland input-method protocol, IBus completely breaks dead keys (accents/tildes) in Chromium/Electron-based applications running natively on Wayland (such as Brave Browser, Discord, VS Code, etc.). Symptom: When typing in Brave under a Wayland session with IBus active, pressing an accent key (e.g., "ยด") followed by a vowel renders only the vowel (the accent disappears completely). The IBus panel window briefly flashes and swallows the keystroke due to the missing modifier synchronization described by the reporter. Impact: This completely ruins the typing experience for users of languages that rely heavily on dead keys (like Spanish, Latvian, French, etc.) when using Web/Electron apps, unless they force XWayland via flags or switch to alternative input methods like Fcitx5. Please consider giving this issue some priority, as it silently breaks text input in mainstream web browsers. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
