  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
My settings are set for the keyboard to repeat characters on long press, but
due to KDE introducing an accented characters and other variances menu on long
press, the feature I want doesn't work anymore. And there is no option to
disable this new key variances menu.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a writable thing
2. Try a long press on "e" (a character with accents) and see if the e repeat
itself
3. Try a long press on "f" (a character that has currently no accents added)
and see if the f repeat itself

OBSERVED RESULT
"e" open the menu and is not repeated
"f" doesn't have a menu and is not repeated

EXPECTED RESULT
There should be an option to have repeated keys instead of the menu, in
keyboard settings.
It is probably a bad idea to have a menu on most characters and have repetition
on the very few characters that doesn't have it, because of the inconsistency
it would introduce.
1. The first way of giving the user his settings would be to have two checkbox,
one to enable/disable the key variances menu and one to enable/disable the
repeat.
2. The second way of doing it is to choose "on long press on key ..." : "do
nothing", "repeat character", "show variances of the character".

Also, it may be possible to combine the two features by having the key
variances menu always opening on long press and being able to long press with
left click on a character from the menu to repeat this character. In that case,
we would need the character from the current key to also be shown in the menu
for itself to be repeatable.
For this mix, maybe the two checkbox (setting option 1) would work but it may
be better to show an explanation text (at least when the two checkbox are
checked), something like "To repeat a character while having the variances,
long press the key, then long press in the menu on the character to repeat".
