Location of "GTK theme" option in system settings.

To workaround this problem, you can select Adwaita theme for Gnome/GTK
applications.

Open System Settings, then select "Colors & Themes" -> "Application Style"
(alternatively, search for "gtk" to quickly open this settings page).
In the top-right corner, click "Configure GNOME/GTK Application Style...".
In the "GTK theme" field select "Adwaita". Then apply changes.
See the attached screenshot.

This way gtk applications are usable.
