I have not yet tested whether the same scenario can be reproduced on Linux or macOS. However, based on the code analysis, the crash appears to be triggered when project_monitor_fullscreen references a monitor that is no longer available during startup. It would be interesting to verify whether the same configuration causes a similar issue on other platforms.
