I can confirm that after upgrading today to Plasma 6.6.5 via official Discover
on Kubuntu 26.04 LTS, everything is working perfectly. There's a micro delay in
the mouse cursor when crossing the screens, but once crossed it works
flawlessly, and even though my HDMI output is hard-wired to the Quadro card,
the nvidia-smi shows kwin_wayland taking 0MiB and the card being in P8 state,
which is awesome as driving external displays basically doesn't take any
significant resources of the Nvidia card. And the whole system can still work
on power save mode cooled passively, which is only possible on Kubuntu, no
other OS (including Windows) was able to sustain my system without the fans on
(sure they kick in when doing some intense CPU or GPU work, but they are quiet
when browsing the web, reading email, writing code etc.).

Surely I filed the bug report on Nvidia side, hoping they will resolve this
regression on their side. But what you did as workaround/fix is good enough for
everyday work, and I finally got my setup working like it should again. It's
perfect. Thank you!
