            Bug ID: 523115
Summary: Subtitles are not rendered or previewed in Kdenlive
26.04.3 Snap, but work correctly in the AppImage
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kdenlive
      Version First 26.04.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Rendering & Export
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

I am using the Snap package of Kdenlive 26.04.3. Subtitle functionality appears
to be broken, while the same files and workflow work correctly in the official
AppImage.

Environment
Kdenlive: 26.04.3 (rev. dd74ba59af)
Package: Snap
MLT: 7.38.0
Qt: 6.11.1
KDE Frameworks: 6.27.0
GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620 (Mesa)
Windowing System: X11
Kernel: Linux 6.17.0-40-generic

Steps to reproduce
Create a new project.
Create or import a subtitle track.
Import a valid .srt subtitle file (also tested with .ass generated by FFmpeg).
Open the Subtitles panel.
Expected result
Imported subtitles appear in the Project Monitor.
The subtitle style preview displays correctly.
Rendered video contains burned-in subtitles.
Actual result
Subtitle entries are imported and visible in the subtitle track.
The Subtitles panel lists the subtitle entries.
The subtitle style preview is blank.
No subtitles are shown in the Project Monitor.
Rendered videos do not contain subtitles.

Additional information
The same subtitle files work correctly in the official Kdenlive AppImage on the
same system.
The issue occurs with both .srt and .ass subtitle files.
A minimal test .srt containing a single subtitle also exhibits the same
behavior.
I initially suspected project corruption because an older project could not
create subtitles, but after testing in a brand-new project, the problem
persists only in the Snap build. The AppImage displays and renders the same
subtitles correctly.
