Currently when playing back audio that is speed up to something like 800% speed
that has pitch compensation mode turned on, the playback stutters and lags.
With the audio muted I can preview even 10 times speed without much problem,
same if the pitch compensation is turned off but as soon as it is turned on,
playing back the clip at higher speeds whether due to a time laps or because
I'm reviewing the footage on a high speed lags to a almost unusable amount.
If its possible to optimize the video playback so much that it works well even
at high speeds like you have, I have no doubt the audio can definitely be
optimized more to make faster playback more useful. Currently not even the
preview rendering function fixes this, as the audio is still live composed even
with preview rendering. As a result viewing time lapses with the audio enabled
in the editor is almost useless.
This is of course not a huge problem but it would be nice to see it fixed to
make the fast playback and working on time lapses more useful. unfortunately I
would imagine its not a quick fix though.
