Bug ID: 523603
Summary: Incomprehensible subtitle under "Enable notifications"
checkbox
Classification: Applications
Product: NeoChat
Version First git master
Reported In:
Platform: Flatpak
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Keywords: usability
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: General
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
This is with the KDE nightly build of NeoChat.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Be on a distro without kunifiedpush installed onto the host OSl such as KDE
Linux
2. Open NeoChat's settings window
3. Go to Notifications
OBSERVED RESULT
The subtitle says: "Push notifications are available, but the push distributor
does not have a Matrix gateway."
I don't know what this means.
EXPECTED RESULT
Something comprehensible. If it's trying to tell me that the OS doesn't have
support for push notifications and that therefore NeoChat can't send them when
not running, it should say that.
Also, why is this message here anyway? This is the checkbox for *all*
notifications — local as well as push — right?
