If there aren't any coredumps, then it isn't a crash, the application is exiting normally. It does sound like having "KOrganizer View" instead of "KOrganizer" was the problem. I don't see "KOrganizer View" as an option in the drop down for the default calendar on Solus. If that was set by default, that's a setting controlled by your distribution.
