Bug ID: 523681
Summary: In the files panel, Ctrl-Mouse-Wheel does not zoom
text -- unlike other Linux programs
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version First 26.04.3
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: major
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
When the cursor is in the Files Panel, Ctrl-Mouse-Wheel zooms the icon size
instead of the text size. In Linux apps and terminal programs the conventional
behavior is for this user input to zoom the text size up or down. The
conventional behavior should be provided, and is an important (but missing)
control for Dolphin.
If the developers desire for the Files Panel icons to be zoomed (which is nice
to have, too), the control for that should be changed to Shift-Mouse-Wheel or
Alt-Mouse-Wheel
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Either hover the mouse over the File Panel or select a file in the File
Panel
2. Depress the Ctrl key and roll the mouse wheel in both directions.
OBSERVED RESULT
Rolling the mouse wheel forward enlarges the icons, step by step. Rolling the
mouse wheel backwards diminishes the icons, step by step. In both cases the
text size does not change.
EXPECTED RESULT
I expect the text size to be enlarged or diminished, not the icon size.
