(I have joined KDE very recently, so I'm not exactly absolute perfect in knowing every possible detail okay.. but here's the solution I found) : Your Issue is ... Well that's a complex screen setup and Wayland will have some issues with it for sure than a single monitor, So your problem is coming from a mismatched multi monitor state ... When the cache (plasmalogin) is removed while your TV is physically disconnected. You see when you remove the cache from /var what happens is when your computer boots next time it rebuilds it but with a catch, that catch is that when the cache is rebuilds and optimized only for the remaining displays if you now plug your TV subsequently while the cache is not optimized for it ... SDDM / Plasma .. mismatches the screen geometry, refresh rate limits, broked the layout boundaries and Wayland becomes a distorted, flickering loop. To Fix this: Power off everything... Connect everything (TV, primary 1440 Monitor, third monitor) Enter the desktop again Open Terminal Emulator Now clear the cache : sudo rm -rf /var/lib/plasmalogin Now open system settings... Go to Login screen (SDDM) from the left menu and open it Click Apply Plasma settings.... This will force layout cache to build properly for your displays Now go back to terminal and type sudo reboot and your computer will restart to make a clean layout cache and initialize it Or just reboot from the GUI and hit reboot now NOTE: This exact issue was also present in CachyOS Forums. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
