DESCRIPTION
When running Orca, and following the steps below, the CapsLock gets stuck in
the "enabled" state. As an Orca user, I frequently trigger this by mistake,
because it is common to press the Orca key twice quickly when performing
multiple screen reader commands. The only way I have found to fix this is by
logging out and back into the session again.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run "orca -s" from a terminal to start the Orca screen reader and open its
preferences.
2. Select Commands.
3. Change the keyboard layout to laptop. This automatically selects CapsLock as
the Orca modifier.
4. Press Alt + F4 to close the settings and select "Save to Default and close".
5. Press CapsLock twice quickly and while still holding CapsLock, press t.
CapsLock is toggled to on, and Orca speaks the time.
OBSERVED RESULT
Orca speaks the time, however, CapsLock is now stuck in the on state. Even if I
disable Orca, I am not able to disable CapsLock by pressing the key on my
keyboard.
EXPECTED RESULT
CapsLock should be toggled on, and Orca should speak the time. If I want to
turn CapsLock off, I should be able to press it twice quickly to turn it off
with Orca enabled (the first keypress of CapsLock should only be sent to Orca
to be used as the modifier for an Orca command, the second press should toggle
the state of CapsLock in KWin). If Orca is disabled, a single press of CapsLock
should toggle it on and off.
