Bug ID: 524587
Summary: Keyboard layout switching on a lock screen behaves
differently than in normal environment
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.7.4
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Screen locking
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
I've got two custom keyboard layouts, where right Alt is Level 3 switch, Caps
Lock is Level 5 switch, two Shifts is the new Caps Lock, and right Ctrl is set
as the (legacy) layout switcher.
This configuration works fine in both X11 and Wayland. It also worked fine for
me on a lock screen under X11, but on Wayland, the behaviour of the keys is
different.
If I press Caps Lock, Level 5 is activated as expected, but also the layout is
switched, which is something that shouldn't happen. If I press right Ctrl, the
layout is switched for a very quick moment, and then immediately it switches
back.
This complicates entering the password.
I've searched through existing bugs and haven't seen the exact report. A
similar one is https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=519821 but I'm not sure if
the cause is the same.
