            Bug ID: 524727
Summary: Tile layout changes permanently if a window is resized
                    while attached to its tile
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First 6.7.4
       Reported In:
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Custom Tiling
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
If you create a custom Tiling layout and attach a window to it and then drag
the window to resize it, it permanently and irreversibly modifies the custom
layout. There should be an option to lock/save/backup a layout, or at least
Ctrl+Z an accidental change. This matters to me because, for example, I create
a tile that fits a browser tab that is precisely-sized to playback a 16:9 video
without any black bars, or a tile with Dolphin that allows seeing a precise
amount of file rows/columns, etc.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Meta+T
2. Create/modify a tiling layout
3. Shift+drag a window into a tile
4. Drag the edge of the window to resize

OBSERVED RESULT
Entire tiling layout is affected immediately

EXPECTED RESULT
Option to lock a layout. Resizing a window in a locked layout should only allow
making it smaller than the tile, or not at all, or detach it from its tile, or
allow to Undo a change.
