Summary
The Projects plugin sidebar contains a combobox for switching projects, but it
always shows the static label "Current Project" regardless of which project is
actually active. With session restore enabled ("Restore Open Projects"), Kate
correctly reloads the last project on startup — yet the combobox still reads
"Current Project", giving the user no at-a-glance confirmation of which project
is active.
Steps to reproduce
Enable the Projects plugin (Settings → Configure Kate → Projects), with
"Restore Open Projects" checked.
Set Application Startup Behavior to "Load last used session".
Open a project, then close and restart Kate.
Observe: the project is restored correctly, but the sidebar combobox shows
"Current Project".
Expected behavior
The combobox displays the name of the currently active project (e.g. the name
field from .kateproject, or the directory name as fallback). When multiple
projects are open, it shows the active one; selecting a different project from
the dropdown updates the displayed name accordingly.
Rationale
With several similarly structured projects, the generic label forces users to
open the dropdown or the Projects menu just to verify which project is active —
repeated dozens of times a day in a multi-project workflow. Displaying the
actual project name would provide immediate visual confirmation after session
restore and during normal editing, at zero interaction cost.
Additional suggestion
As a related nicety: persist the last active project selection in the session,
so after restart the combobox not only shows a name but shows the correct one
without any user interaction.
