But if it's just as the comment suggested - that you now check that both checkboxes have to be checked as a requirement to start the test, it won't solve the issue. As that can be done without a restart, I just tried it. When OpenCL is disabled initially (both checkboxes off) one is able to check "Use OpenCL hw accel" and then is able to check "Use OpenCL accel for AI". Even without having restarted. And then the button is on and users can fall into the same trap. The user then tests, the test fails and one cancels the entire configure dialog. So that "Use OpenCL hw accel" is not persisted again. And the errors are repeated (after trying to setup OpenCL on the OS). I would suggest the following: 1) When checking "Use OpenCL hardware acceleration" open a modal dialog and tell the user that this setting requires a restart to have effect. That would help a lot. A modal dialogue is usually read. 2) Instead of "both OpenCL options must be checked to start the DNN GPU test." I would suggest that you bind the following condition to the enabled properties of both the "Use OpenCL hardware acceleration for AI models" checkbox, as well as the test button: enabled = "Use OpenCL hardware acceleration checked" && OpenCL availability is yes/loaded (the value that is displayed in the components) Plus a tooltip (why it's greyed out), like "Requires OpenCL hardware acceleration checked, as well as a restart of DigiKam so that OpenCL is made avaliable to Digikam" That would make it fool prof ;) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
