Bug ID: 526213
Summary: Program redirection issue: Sometimes, opening one
program triggers the consecutive opening of another.
Classification: I don't know
Product: kde
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: crash
Priority: NOR
Component: general

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Meta+D followed by opening an application restores all minimized windows
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open at least two applications.
2. Press Meta+D to minimize all windows.
3. Trigger any of the following:
a) Click an existing application on the taskbar, or use its shortcut
b) Launch a new application (e.g. Dolphin via Meta+E)
c) Press Meta+I to open Quick Settings
OBSERVED RESULT
After minimizing all windows with Meta+D:
- Activating an already-running application (taskbar click or shortcut)
restores all previously minimized windows at once.
- Launching a new application (e.g. Dolphin via Meta+E) restores the previously
used application in addition to the new one.
- Pressing Meta+I (Quick Settings) also restores the previously used
application(s).
EXPECTED RESULT
Only the application explicitly opened should be restored or launched. All
other minimized windows should stay minimized. Meta+I should only open Quick
Settings and must not affect application windows.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.30.0
Qt Version: 6.11.2
Graphics Platform: Wayland
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This happens every time, not intermittently.
It is not related to session restore.
It only happens after Meta+D has minimized all windows; minimizing windows one
by one manually does not trigger it.
Manually clicking an application does not trigger it; it requires Meta+D first.
