DESCRIPTION
I’ve been having an issue with the “Icons-and-Text” Task manager on my machine.
When the screen turns off due to inactivity, sometimes when I wake it back up
(not from sleep, just the monitors are off), the task manager bar shows no
applications despite some being still open. Strangely, if I open the
configuration “Behavior” tab when the issue is occurring, I can uncheck “From
Current Screen” and they all show up on the task bar, but disappear again when
I recheck that box.
I can get everything working again without opening the settings by running the
command: systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell.service But it’s a little
inconvenient to have to do most of the time when I wake my computer up.
After a short discussion on discuss.kde.org, I got a suggestion to check that
the display connector names/priorities weren't changing after the monitor power
was restored using the command kscreen-doctor -o
I ran the command while everything was acting normally, and then again after
the issue happened, but the outputs are identical, so I'm not sure that's part
of the issue.
