            Bug ID: 526937
           Summary: Missing Visual C++ Redistributable
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kdenlive
      Version First 26.08.1
       Reported In:
          Platform: Microsoft Windows
                OS: Microsoft Windows
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Setup & Installation
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

On a fresh install of Windows, the setup wizard misses to install the required
Visual C++ Redistributable if it's missing, causing an incomplete installation
and hard-to-diagnose failures. See:
https://www.reddit.com/r/kdenlive/comments/1okzd75/app_keeps_crashing_mlt_window_opens_with_invalid/
After manually installing vcredist, the mentioned issue is fixed.

Expected behavior: the installer should check if a suitable c++ runtime is
installed on the system, and install one if not. Alternatively, the required
prerequisite should be described more visibly on the download page and in the
Windows diagnosis FAQ.
