            Bug ID: 527033
Summary: Konversation OSD steals focus (wayland)
    Classification: Applications
           Product: konversation
      Version First 1.10.26082
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: grave
          Priority: NOR
         Component: notifications
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION

When Konversation displays an OSD notification, this OSD notification steals
the focus from the active program.

When the OSD notification disappears, the focus switches to the main
Konversation window - which means whatever you type will end up in the IRC chat
as soon as you press enter.

I'm marking this bugreport as grave because in worst case the focus gets stolen
from a password input (web browser, GPG agent etc.), and you might accidentally
type the password into IRC.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. join an active channel so that Konversation will display a notification
sooner or later
2. switch to another program and use it as normal
3. wait for Konversation to display an OSD notification
4. check which window has the focus

OBSERVED RESULT
First the OSD notification gets the focus (silently eating/ignoring anything
you type).
Then the Konversation main window gets the focus - and you suddenly type into
IRC instead of the program you were working with.

Additional minor issue: the OSD also temporarily gets listed in the taskbar /
window list. This is not as bad as the focus stealing, but still annoying.
(It's a notification, not a "real" window.)

EXPECTED RESULT
The OSD should never steal the focus.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20261010
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.30.0
Qt Version: 6.11.2
Kernel Version: 7.2.9-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- This problematic behaviour started when I switched to wayland. However, I'm
not sure if it's really a wayland issue, or if the Plasma version update I did
at the same time introduced it.

- In the system settings, under "window behaviour", I've set "avoidance of
unwanted activation" to "low" - which works fine for everything except the
Konversation OSD.
