Sophian Zoeller <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #4 from Sophian Zoeller <[email protected]> --- I'm experiencing the same issue on Fedora 44, KDE Frameworks 6.31.0, with image thumbnails (not just video). All image previews stopped working on a local gocryptfs FUSE mount on a directly-attached btrfs SSD. Root cause: KIO's PreviewJob now classifies FUSE mounts as "slow/remote," which subjects them to the MaximumRemoteSize limit. The default MaximumRemoteSize=0 in kdeglobals [PreviewSettings] means no thumbnails are generated for any file on these mounts. Workaround: setting MaximumRemoteSize to a nonzero value in [PreviewSettings] in ~/.config/kdeglobals restores thumbnails: kwriteconfig6 --file kdeglobals --group PreviewSettings --key MaximumRemoteSize 104857600 This affects all local FUSE-based encrypted mounts (gocryptfs, encfs, cryfs), not just video thumbnails. The fix should distinguish between genuinely remote FUSE mounts (sshfs, davfs2) and local-only ones. Related: KIO MR !1534 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
