Symptom
Sometimes at boot the greeter shows up normally but no characters can be
typed into the password field. Switching to a VT (Ctrl+Alt+F3) works and
login on the VT works. The next boot usually works fine.
Seen on 2026-09-29, 2026-10-03 and twice on 2026-10-12. On some occurrences
Enter still submits the form: PAM logs "pam_kwallet5: Empty or missing
password" and authentication fails, so keys reach the greeter, but text is
not inserted into the field.

06:55:18 plasma-login-wallpaper: "The PlasmaWindowManagement protocol hasn't
activated in time."
06:55-06:56 typing in the password field had no effect
06:56:21 switched to tty3, logged in there
06:57:27 rebooted
Greeter KWin is started by plasma-login-kwin_wayland.service with
"--inputmethod plasma-keyboard" (unit content in system-info.txt).
