SUMMARY
Since 6.8.0 the bouncing launch-feedback icon next to the cursor is far bigger
than in 6.7. With cursor size 83 it is roughly 3x larger than before (about 190
logical px instead of ~60).
CAUSE
StartupFeedbackEffect was ported to ImageItem (child of the cursor item). In
StartupFeedbackEffect::start():

m_bounceSizesRatio = iconSize / 16.0; // 3.44
...
m_item->setSize(QSize(iconSize, iconSize) * m_bounceSizesRatio); // 55 *
3.44 = 189
iconSize already scales with the cursor size, and m_bounceSizesRatio scales it
a second time. In 6.7 the feedback rect was feedbackIconSize() = QSize(20, 20)
* m_bounceSizesRatio, i.e. the ratio was applied to the fixed 16..20 px base,
not to iconSize. With the default cursor size 24 iconSize is 16 and the ratio
is 1, so the default configuration is not affected, which is probably why it
went unnoticed.
Blinking and passive feedback use setSize(QSize(iconSize, iconSize)) without
the ratio and have the correct size.
A side effect: with the oversized child the cursor item's bounding box exceeds
the hardware cursor plane size (e.g. 513 px at scale 2.25), so the hardware
cursor is dropped while the feedback is shown.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. System Settings > Mouse & Touchpad > Cursors, set a large cursor size (e.g.
48 or more).
2. Keep launch feedback "Bouncing".
3. Launch any application.
OBSERVED RESULT
The bouncing icon is several times larger than the cursor.
EXPECTED RESULT
Same size as in Plasma 6.7 (icon roughly 16..20 px times cursorSize/24).
