I tried again this time i set the setting to always open /home/aris/Downloads/ . In Konsole i entered dolphin ~ It opened the home folder but Konsole was not back to the user@fedora state just the next line was empty. I then pasted dolphin --select ~/dolphintest/file1 . Nothing changed in Dolphin. When i closed Dolphin the window closed but immediately opened a new Dolphin window where the correct folder was opened and the right file selected.
