DESCRIPTION
The "History to show" setting, when set to a high enough value, causes a
freeze. This persists after rebooting and renders the graphical UI completely
unusable.
The issue can be resolved by editing
~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc manually from a virtual
console. This, however, is inconvenient. I came across this bug when checking
whether I could make the "Disk usage" widget show the last 7 days of history.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add any "System monitor sensor" widget to your desktop
2. Set "Display style" to "Line chart"
2. Set "History to show" to a large value, such as 600,000 seconds
3. Apply
OBSERVED RESULT
The widget allows the user to enter large values, saves it to
~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc, and causes Wayland session
freezes on every login.
EXPECTED RESULT
The widget handles large values appropriately by either enforcing a limit on
what values the user can input, or actually displays history from the previous
x seconds.
