Lea Seibert <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #2 from Lea Seibert <[email protected]> --- I can confirm heavy performance degradation with compositing on 6.8.0 and 6.8.1, however from what I've observed it only happens if there is no additional layer composited on top (e.g. cursor plane). Even though this sounds similar to the criteria for direct scanout to kick in, I can verify compositing is always active according to the showcompositing effect. The bug manifests in degradation whenever I focus a game, unpause or move the cursor to a different screen; anything that causes the window to be the only surface on the screen. I've also attempted setting `KWIN_FORCE_SW_CURSOR=0` and `KWIN_WAYLAND_SUPPORT_COMMIT_TIMING_V1=0` but to no change. Toggling VRR changes the behavior of the degradation, with VRR off the average FPS is closer to expected performance but it drops to about the same lows.
