            Bug ID: 527650
Summary: Creating multiple PiP windows opens them on top of
                    each other
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First 6.8.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: EndeavourOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
Using Firefox and xx-pip-v1 enabled via KWIN_WAYLAND_SUPPORT_XX_PIP_V1=1.

Creating one PiP window opens it in a corner. Good.
Creating a second PiP window opens it exactly on top of the first one. Not
good.

Creating a PiP window with Firefox under x11 never places it obscuring an
already existing PiP window. E.g. if the first window is still in the lower
right corner, the second one is placed above it. Not sure what algorithm
Firefox uses exactly, but it's decent and I've pushed it quite a bit at times.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0. Set KWIN_WAYLAND_SUPPORT_XX_PIP_V1=1 in /etc/environment to enable the new
pip extension.
1. Play a video in Firefox and open it in a PiP window.
2. Play a second video in Firefox and open it in another PiP window.

OBSERVED RESULT
Second window completely obscures the first one.

EXPECTED RESULT
Unless the entire display area is filled, a new PiP window should be placed
such that it doesn't obscure an already existing one.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
