Alfonziak <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #21 from Alfonziak <[email protected]> --- I am new here but in simple terms: I have similar instance with my specks (check them down basically amd-inbuild / NVIDIA-dedicated laptop). Story: After updating to new 6.8.0 My "quick fix" that I was running caused my inbuilt screen to black out like all is there it just shows black only plus the cursor when it first appears on boot but after moving between screens that is gone too on that screen. I tracked it down to mentioned "quick fix" in config files that forced my session to run Nvidia only mode mainly. Deleting this fixed it and actually freed up a lot of work as amd finally has something to do / can share load. Next update 6.8.1 breaks this in mentioned way in main post. I make windows flicker between each other mainly upper left corners →Tracked that down to this update. My fix: Downgrade kwin kwayland6.8.1 to→ 6.8.0 My Hardware: Laptop: HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2xxx Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with Radeon Graphics Memory: 24 GiB of RAM (22,8 GiB usable) Graphics Processor 1: AMD Radeon Graphics Graphics Processor 2: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU ( Mobile version drives external HDMI) My Software: Operating System: EndeavourOS /Arch KDE Plasma Version: 6.8.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.31.0 Qt Version: 6.12.0 Kernel Version: 6.18.57-2-lts (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland - kwin 6.8.1-1 (broken), kwin 6.8.0-1 (works) - nvidia-open-lts 615.78.08, kernel 6.18.57-2-lts - mesa 26.2.5, qt6-base 6.12.0-3 - No KWIN_DRM_DEVICES override set, so KWin picks the GPU automatically now My Hypothesis: -The changes recently of 6.8.1 mentiones the host memory oweride being broad back. This which removal broke my original "qick fix" may have some scheduling problem related to it. inxi output: inxi -Gxx Graphics: Device-1: NVIDIA GA107M [GeForce RTX 3050 Mobile] vendor: Hewlett-Packard driver: nvidia v: 615.78.08 arch: Ampere pcie: speed: 2.5 GT/s lanes: 8 ports: active: HDMI-A-1 empty: none bus-ID: 01:00.0 chip-ID: 10de:25a2 Device-2: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Cezanne [Radeon Vega Series / Radeon Mobile Series] vendor: Hewlett-Packard driver: amdgpu v: kernel arch: GCN-5 pcie: speed: 8 GT/s lanes: 16 ports: active: eDP-1 empty: none bus-ID: 05:00.0 chip-ID: 1002:1638 temp: 49.0 C Device-3: Luxvisions Innotech HP TrueVision HD Camera driver: uvcvideo type: USB rev: 2.0 speed: 480 Mb/s lanes: 1 bus-ID: 3-3:3 chip-ID: 30c9:0035 Display: wayland server: X.org v: 1.21.1.25 with: Xwayland v: 24.1.14 compositor: kwin_wayland driver: X: loaded: modesetting, nvidia alternate: fbdev, nouveau,nv,vesa dri: radeonsi gpu: amdgpu,nv_platform,nvidia,nvidia-nvswitch d-rect: 3840x1080 display-ID: 1 Monitor-1: HDMI-A-1 pos: right model: Samsung C27F390 res: 1920x1080 hz: 60 dpi: 82 diag: 686mm (27") Monitor-2: eDP-1 pos: primary, left model: BOE Display 0x080d res: 1920x1080 hz: 60 dpi: 142 diag: 395mm (15.5") API: EGL v: 1.5 platforms: device: 0 drv: nvidia device: 1 drv: radeonsi device: 3 drv: swrast gbm: drv: radeonsi surfaceless: drv: nvidia wayland: drv: radeonsi x11: drv: radeonsi inactive: device-2 API: OpenGL v: 4.6.0 compat-v: 4.6 vendor: amd mesa v: 26.2.5-arch1.1 glx-v: 1.4 direct-render: yes renderer: AMD Radeon Graphics (radeonsi renoir ACO DRM 3.64 6.18.57-2-lts) device-ID: 1002:1638 API: Vulkan v: 1.4.363 surfaces: N/A device: 0 type: integrated-gpu driver: mesa radv device-ID: 1002:1638 device: 1 type: discrete-gpu driver: nvidia device-ID: 10de:25a2 Info: Tools: api: clinfo, eglinfo, glxinfo, vulkaninfo de: kscreen-console,kscreen-doctor gpu: nvidia-smi wl: wayland-info x11: xdpyinfo, xprop, xrandr Sorry in edvance for my stupid sentence structure and or non standard spec write out. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
