--- Comment #7 from Zamundaaa <[email protected]> --- Ah, right, on that hardware you get llvmpipe, so CPU and "GPU" times are exactly the same. > After upgrading to 6.8.1, I enabled all effects (including blur), and the > surprise is the desktop feels much faster than 6.7.5, launcher appears > faster, and even the animations in logout screen are smooth without any mouse > lagging, the system tray widgets appears also faster, also those maximize and > minimize windows effects are fine, I don't know what happened but things > are really good for now That's interesting, I can't think of any specific changes we did that would improve llvmpipe > The only animation which remains slow is the maximize and minimize of those > open/save dialogs, it's takes around 2seconds to finish. That might be related to https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/8804. It was kind of written around the assumption that if a frame takes longer, that's an exception, but if the animation would need to run at for example half the refresh rate already, it just slows down the animation by a factor of 2. I'm not 100% sure how to improve that properly, but maybe a hacky-ish "is software renderer" check could be okay for this case. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
