Craig Rutherford <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #3 from Craig Rutherford <[email protected]> --- I have what looks like the same problem, but with keyboard shortcuts as reported by ddnn. (I don't use the toolbar buttons myself.) Dolphin 26.08.1, Fedora, on two separate machines. What happens: - I assign shortcuts to two service menu actions in Configure Keyboard Shortcuts (Context Menu Actions). - They work for a while, then at some point (days to weeks, but I haven't noticed a pattern) they stop working. - Opening Configure Keyboard Shortcuts at that point shows the two actions with empty shortcut fields. - The saved shortcuts are still in ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/dolphin/dolphinui.rc the whole time. The file's modified time did not change. - Today, with a single Dolphin process running since 09:21, the shortcuts went from dead and blank back to working and showing correctly. I made no changes. I did not restart Dolphin. - After killing Dolphin and starting it again, they load fine. Other things I ruled out: - The service menu .desktop files were not touched. - The KDE service cache (ksycoca) was last rebuilt before Dolphin started, so it did not change in between. This matches what ddnn describes (shortcuts stop working at a random time). I found commit ec0786d for bug 525620, which stops Dolphin from rebuilding its file item actions on every kdeglobals change. I don't know whether that fixes this too. It seems like the rebuild can leave saved shortcuts unattached, and that would still be a problem even if it happens less often. I watched ~/.config/kdeglobals while Dolphin was running. It was written to twice (13:39 and 13:40) and the shortcuts kept working both times, so a kdeglobals write alone doesn't seem to trigger it for me. The shortcuts also came back earlier today with no kdeglobals write at that time. I don't know what causes the loss or what restores them. Stock Fedora install, no other customizations to Dolphin other than the shortcuts + .desktop service menu files. The process list shows a single "dolphin --daemon" instance running since I restarted for updates this morning. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
