Bug ID: 527864
Summary: [Feature Request] option to pass clipboard data to
klipper action commands via stdin instead of
(size-limited) arguments
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.7.4
Reported In:
Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Clipboard widget & pop-up
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]

Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
Currently klipper passes data to action commands via command-line arguments,
which are size-limited at least on the Linux kernel currently, which currently
means that when large amounts of data are passed to an action command, the
data/command gets truncated before execution.
The only way to solve this would be to add an option to pass the data to the
command via stdin.
All of the commands I currently use look similar to the one below, adding
support for stdin would also allow me to eliminate the boilerplate printf
prefix from each of them.
printf '%%s\n' %s | pastebinit
USE CASE EXAMPLE
Copying large text files from Kate to a pastebin Klipper action.
