The file’s root element is <westley>, but Kdenlive only accepts <mlt>. KdenliveDoc::Open() (kdenlivedoc.cpp:235) uses DocumentValidator::isProject(), which rejects any root that isn’t mlt and shows the “is not a Kdenlive project file” error. DocumentValidator::validate() (documentvalidator.cpp:43-47) also fails when there’s no <mlt> element.
