            Bug ID: 528417
Summary: Ekos / Aborted Job Management incorrect behavior
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kstars
      Version First 3.8.4.1
       Reported In:
          Platform: Ubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION

Also first posted this to discuss, so comments from other users may appear
there as well:
https://discuss.kde.org/t/ekos-aborted-job-management-incorrect-behavior/51614

Job Startup Conditions: On 05/11 19:00
Aborted Job Management: (O) Immediate, [X] Re-schedule errors: 180 s wait
Job Completion Conditions: Repeat until 05/11/26 20:50

However, when guiding fails (because of obstruction), the scheduler considers
the job complete and does not attempt again, even though to me these settings
let me to believe it should try until 20:50. Unless I have completely
misunderstood, these settings should try until 20:50 and wait 180 seconds
between attempts. At least that kind of feature would be extremely helpful
since if it was middle of the night I would have completely missed that target.

But I find it hard to believe that this is intended behavior: I certainly am
not the only one that might encounter clouds or obstructions, and would hate to
have wasted precious time because of momentary obstacles.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a job with the said settings and enable at least [X] Guide step
2. Use internal guider
3. Cover the guiding scope to prevent calibration from finishing

OBSERVED RESULT

Job completes with status Error and Ekos will not attempt to retry even when
there is time available for that (see end-time).
