            Bug ID: 384572
Summary: Enable 'Apply" for Kile configuration diaglogue, at
                    least for colours and fonts
           Product: kile
           Version: 2.9.91
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: user interface
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

The main Kile configuration dialogue has an 'OK' and a 'Cancel' but no 'Apply'
button. This means that to test changes e.g. to colour or font choices, it is
necessary to close and restart the configuration dialogue box. But the dialogue
is s-l-l-l-o-o-o-w-w, making the experience an extremely protracted and
frustrating one.

In the case of fonts, it is at least possible to test the effect in the
sand-box area at the bottom. But this isn't available when testing syntax
highlighting. In addition, the terminology used for various elements is, to say
the least, obscure. Who knew that 'preprocessor' meant 'comment'? (I still
haven't figured out what 'comment' means.) What does 'built-in' mean in LaTeX?
Or 'control flow'? Or 'function'? ('Function' has meaning in expl3 syntax, but
Kile doesn't syntax highlight that correctly at all yet, as far as I can tell.
The same for 'variable'.) So it is a question of trying to infer the meanings
of the terms by changing the colours and observing the results, which, given
the above, takes ages.
