Similar to 1), create a custom Desktop file that opens Gwenview in a specified folder (e.g. ~) I personally think an empty URL bar on the Start page is a bit weird and unconventional. It might be confusing - if it's empty, it's probably not obvious what it actually is if you don't already know.
