SUMMARY
Digikam's interface is generally designed so the left panel is used to browse
pictures, while the right panel is used to view information about the selected
picture(s) and edit metadata.
For instance, there's a Tags browser on the left, and tags can be edited on the
right (under Caption/Tags). There's a Map browser in the left panel, where you
can select a map area, and there's a Map view on the right panel that shows you
the location of the selected picture(s). You get the idea.
I think it would be interesting if a similar feature was available for
"People". An extra panel on the right could show the list of faces present on
the selected pictures. One step further would be being able to edit those faces
from that panel.
