Bug ID: 400421
Summary: Kile should accept file name as argument
Product: kile
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
I am using Kile 2.9.91 on Ubuntu 18.04 on a 64bit amd architecture, using the
Mint desktop environment.
The "kile" command does not accept a file path or directory path to quickly
start work directly on a file or a project in a directory.
When starting kile with the name of a file, e.g. main.text, the error "Unknown
host main.tex: Host not found" is shown.
When starting kile using the dot as the current directory, it crashes with a
segmentation fault.
When starting kile from inside a project directory without any command line
arguments, then opening a file, the file open dialog does not show the current
directory but the home directory.
All this makes it extremely annoying and clumsy to work with kile. Especially
since kile did have the ability to accept a file to work on as an argument in
the past.
