It is hard to say if that problem is really gone, but I tested some of my older
files, (texlive version has changed as well in the mean time) but they compile
fine in cirkuit, and also a warning appears in the compile log which does not
produce a problem.

I am not sure if the warning was the same category in the original report:
Package pgf Warning: Snakes have been superseded by decorations. Please use the
 decoration libraries instead of the snakes library on input line 14.

I use currently cirkuit 0.4.3 which is installed from a package from openSUSE
13.2, even if the package is not in the repos of my current openSuse 15.0
anymore...
