This is wrong : Windows installer only remove the binaries distribution of the
program, installed in C:\program Files by default. It do not touch your files
in home directory and your database/settings.

Welcome to Windows world, with the high security level of sub system which
refuse to install client application, or break install without
information/report.

You have an antivirus working in the background ? Do not search more... Even if
digiKam for Windows is cross compiled under Linux (no virus is possible in this
case), the application is in certain cases detected as malware. In fact the
malware is the Antivirus itself. 

This is why i refuse to work under M$ OS...
