[krita] [Bug 410012] Tool does not work for me in the slightest, it has the text selection box thing when you drag it but the editing box no longer pops up nor does the generic latin text.

Could you check if this keeps happening even if you have ANGLE (direct 3d)
renderer as your canvas acceleration option? this can be selected/changed in: 

Krita Settings > display
